I enjoyed this book very much my only criticism was that they were too many numbers, but that was the nature of the research.
While I believe that Arkansas played just on the edge of the rules, I also point a finger at the insane insistence that there be a Kradam finale. Week after week votes were split just because Adam liked Kris or worst that some imagined a torrid love affair going on behind closed doors. Yes they were friends and roomies but that was no reason to not give Adam the votes he deserved. Kris came out of nowhere with his crooked smile and coffee house voice to the delighted the teen age girls and the first time fruit flies. IMHO the only time Kris ever shines is when he is with Adam. Kris knew a good thing when he saw it and perpetuated the Kradam bromance for as long as possible. One only has to listen to “No Boundaries” to know who Kara thought would be in the finale. The only two contestants who could even touch those notes were Adam & Danny.
And thank you for that picture of Adam and Allison from the finale the look on Adam’s face says it all, he wanted to win and he was (dare I say upset and sad) that he did not, he deserved the tittle and even Kris knew the truth. Does Kris always play fair hell no look at how hard tried to get Rock My Town to be in Little Rock, the only person t benefit from that would have been Kris. Is Kris a bad guy no, is he more devious than people think, I believe so. He even told us he wasn’t always the nice guy he just played on on TV.
Bottom line Kerry good job for exposing the ArkansasGate. Adam Lambert was robbed fo the American Idol tittle by an small town boy, with a big city agenda. To those who say Adam was better off not winning I say BS! Adam would have still been Adam and nothing would have changed not one performance or fashion adventure, what would have been different is that after eight years of trying the winner would have finally been the super star American Idol had always wanted.
Fans want to tell you that Adam was cool with Kris winning and he is OK being runner up,I’m not so sure that is true. Adam is happy for his friend and grateful for his life post Idol,bit maybe in the back of his mind he wonders what he did wrong, IDK … I don’t even know Adam but I do know he was robbed of what rightfully was his and what he worked so hard for week after week …
And the American Idol Season 8 is Adam Lambert at least that is the way I play it in my mind.
I have known all along, the votes were ONE BIG CHEAT! Also, that is why PAULA left, she also knew, and loves ADAM so much, she could not handle the idea that ADAM was really the WINNER, and she could not come out and say the truth about the voting SCAM. So, she Quit, can you blame her, you always saw this love for HIM in her eyes, and always gave him a standing O. I wish she could and will speak up, but doubt is she can, so leaving was the only way, and I do miss her, Ellen, is ok, but knows nothing about music. Hope PAULA’s endevors will be successful in her future! And all these new contestants are trying to copy ADAM, knowing he is and will always be the best AI ever!
Thankyou Kerry. I read your book and loved it. I was banned from American Idol when I posted the article from the Arkansas Gazette about the AT&T representatives being at the watchparties and giving away free phones. I went to Krisalienation.com that morning and read the posts bragging about how many votes were sent in and how Kris’s friends blocked Adam’s phone lines. Your book answered alot of the questions that I had. Why would people who maintained that they were good Christians cheat, the way they did to give Kris the win. Arkansas is still covering up and so many people who refuse to see the truth that was sitting in front of them.
@adamlambert when you get a chance in your busy schedule PLEASE read this e-book. “Adam Lambert Second To None” by Kerry Kolsch http://www.adamlambertsecondtonone.com/ This is not a conspiracy theory book but a detailed account based on evidence and facts of what actually happened in Arkansas regarding corporate interests in preventing people from voting for you and skewing the votes by power block voting on the finale night. There was more than one group involved… There is strong evidence presented that it was a systematic corporate, political and social force behind the voting on that night that we all need to be aware of-if for nothing else than our own empowerment. We can’t fight against something we don’t know exits or what we turn a blind eye to… So yes, knowing this doesn’t change anything but I believe its important to know how corporate interests can work with conservative forces to prevent progressive thought, open minded ideas, creativity and tolerance in this country. Its quite illuminating and terrifying to say the least. I believe it is important for you to know what you are up against so that you can be empowered to stand up to it as this conservative force continues to block you when ever it sees fit. The groups involved seem to change and morph but the ideology does not. You are ultimately right that a title doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things and that nothing will change currently regarding the finale night votes and that Kris at end of day will still be “considered” the winner, however it can help you in the future as you navigate your new found stardom. I clearly believe that no matter what conservative forces try to prevent your success they will not succeed ultimately because of who YOU are; your talent, intelligent and charisma are indeed “second to none”.
So the above quote was sent several days ago to Adam and I can tell you there was quite a few people were upset by this. I got a lot of negative tweets. Very few people seem to want to know the truth of why Adam lost to Kris….I don’t get it! At least we know now that he did not lose because he was gay. That gives me some comfort that America was ready to vote for a gay contestant because of his insane talent. America is not as backwards as I thought-just ignorant and naive. The vote was stolen due to a handle-full unethical people who used their political and social influence to skew the vote, pure and simple. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for writing this book. I hope one day Adam will read it- because he needs to know what really happened that night for his own peace of mind.

I can’t wait to read this book. I have always known that the finale was rigged and i’m glad that someone is finally shedding light on Adam’s loss.
Until American Idol changes its voting policy this travesty will happen again. They have to limit the number of times the public can vote….this CAN be done, they do it on other shows and for other internet polls.
However, when there is a buck to be made we all know what the “powers who be” will choose.
Its such a loss for all of us!
Kerry – I read your book yesterday and am grateful that you took the time to write it. It has always bothered me that this injustice was simply brushed aside. I knew that all of the typical market data indicated an Adam win, but I had no idea what was actually going on in Arkansas. There is no justification for AT&T’s behavior, for that church’s behavior, for the Allen family behavior, or for the behavior of many others. Adam’s assertion that winnng didn’t matter to him is a bit disingenuous. It was obvious from his reaction at being voted into the finale that he wanted to win and that it meant something to him. It is one of my favorite clips. The fact that he didn’t win may or may not hurt his career in the long run – only time will tell. But the fact that he didn’t win mattered enormously to me. I spent many hours and spent many cell phone minutes voting for the guy. American Idol cheated everyone like me who believed that their votes meant something. I knew there was a problem with the voting lines on the night of the finale because I voted for four hours and got through less than 20 times. One last point – it always bothered me that there were 88 million votes cast on the night of the top three and with double the voting time there were approximately 100 million votes cast on the night of the finale. You wouldn’t necessarily expect the vote count to double but to only show an increase of 14% with twice the time? Something is fishy there…..Thanks again, I enjoyed reading Adam Lambert Second to None. Good work!

Will it be on Amazon, Borders? I’d rather buy this book so I can keep it instead of sitting on my computer and reading it for hours.
They can steal your votes, but, they can’t steal your TALENT, Lambert is the Number 1, he’s beyond American Idol, he’s a real Talented guy!.
He’s all over, and Kris the only one you see him is in those pathetic FORD commercials in the America Idol segment. WHO Cares for him.
NOW those Big corporation are putting their money behind the winner ADAM LAMBERT. As happend to Motzart, there will be Always a Saglieri behind the real talent and genius guys.

ms. Kolsch’s book explores the dark dealings surrounding kris allens american idol season 8 win. this book Is a fascinating read. kris allen may have the official title but adam lambert is ’second to none’ !! this book is An amazing piece of well-researched work. anyone who does not believe mr. lambert is the true american idol after reading this is an Idiot.

I tried voting for Adam Lambert and tthe phone line failed the entire time. I also tried voting for Allen once to see what would happen and had no problem getting an “answer”.
